I realized I hadn't blogged lately, so I thought I'd just say hey to everyone. It's been quite a long baseball season so far. We sat in 30-40 degree, high wind, rains, just really really crappy weather for weeks upon weeks. Finally, we got some decent weather our last few games. Well, all that bad weather affected our Raiders; they can't bat. We go through lots of games with little to no batting. Pat's struggling as well as everyone else. Kinda sad. Don't know what the answer is for our boys. Pat's had lots of action in right field for the last several games (yes, that means they're batting!) and he's been doing very well out there. We're hoping they can get out of this funk and turn it around. We started the second half of the season this week. Stranger things have happened, right?
A bunch of us Moms are planning an After Prom Event. It was a HUGE success last year, so we're trying to keep it going. Lots and lots of work, but I'm ok with that. I've been going door to door to local businesses begging for donations. I never thought of myself as a salesperson, but OMG, I'm actually ok with asking for money! It just comes out when I'm talking with these managers. I go on and on about keeping the kids in our community safe; joint effort between businesses, school, parents, yadi yadi yadi... They seem very receptive to my little plug. We'll see if/when the money starts to roll in, right? I'll let you know. Last year, over $4000 was raised. Lots of gifts were raffled off at the Event in order to get the kids to stay there. The final gift raffled was a laptop! How cool is that? Get this one: Lower Dauphin raffles off a car! Yes, that's right! Warner Motors donates a late-model used car every year. Guess who's been calling all the local car dealerships? Do you think I can scrounge up a car???? Ha!
Nothing else going on, just more of the same, enjoying the weather, busy with all these things, etc. Pat's 17 tomorrow, if you can believe that! If you are my friend, and I mean if, you need to tell me that I don't look old enough to have a 17 year old.... I'll see who my friends really are!
