What??? No movies to watch tonight?????

When Joe works late like he has all week, I watch movies! But, I don't have any for tonight ... eeeeerrrrrrrr ... Darnit!!!!!!! Plus, I finished my book - The Memory Keeper's Daughter (very good; I highly recommend it!) and I don't have a book to start! So, I'm blogging... Pat had a little homework which he said he finished. He really likes his classes this semester, and it seems like everything at MASD is going well so far (three days!).

I must tell you about an urge I have....Yes, I have a new urge....something I've been thinkin' about for a week or so... I wanna crochet. I'm not even sure if that's how you spell crochet??? Is that right???? You know, it's the art of making ummmm, like, you know..... afghans, scarfs, and things like that... you know, little knitted items! Yes, you got it! I wanna sorta knit! I use to do this all the time. In fact, I have an afghan that I made long ago. So, I must ask my friend Nettie, or my sister Vic, to at least get me started on this project. I wanna do a little throw for the Sunroom, for when it's chilly out there. I think it will be a nice little Fall project for me: knitting.... Oh, Magda would be soooooo proud.... and my Aunts!!! Oh my, Aunt Mary and Aunt Ann were unbelievably talented with the knitting needles! I have lots of afghans that they made; they are so beautiful. I can only hope that they will inspire me in my new urge - yes, that's right: crocheting....

Niagra Falls!

Oh, we had a GREAT trip! The accommodations were second to none, the view, the food, the music, the scenery, the wineries...did I happen to say WINERIES???? Oh my, the wineries! We stopped at two in Niagra on the Lake, and about three or four in New York, on the way back! Just really fun. Sitting there, at the counters, and testing wines....does it get any better than that? And our tour in Niagra ... it was FABULOUS, and very worth taking. We left at 9 am and returned back at 3 pm, so, it really took most of the day. But, we did just about everything Niagra there was to do. We got the entire experience! The Maid of the Mist was just great! So much fun! I'd have to say that was the best part, along with the wineries of course, and just looking out over the falls! We walked behind them, in through these tunnels and looked out portals which were behind the falls; that was awesome! If you haven't spent time there, you really need to go. You will just need a couple days to do it. Oh, and did I mention that the Canadians like their landscaping? OMG.... beauty, absolutely everywhere you looked! The pics that I posted with the lovely old buildings, and flowers are in the town of Niagra on the Lake, a quaint little lakeside town, down from Niagra Falls. Just an absolutely-breathtakingly beautiful town! You must go there if you are at the Falls!

You heard nothing bad over the weekend of anything that may or may not have happened in Niagra, did you? Oh, don't worry - Joe's safe if you need to know; he's fine. Nothing bad happened to him at all....

I missed Pat very much but he had a great time at the beach! Oh, and my Greyhounds...I can't even say their names, or think about them, it makes me miss them so much. The kennel isn't open on Sundays, so we can't pick them up until tomorrow morning.... I hate my house without my puppies.... It's just not a home... I miss them so much; I can't wait to see them!

I hope you had a great weekend too! Have a great week too! Don't work too hard all!

Just This and That Again....

Did you ever finish a book and just walk around, aimlessly, like you didn't know what to do next? That was me today... I finished Beach Road, by Patterson.... Typical Patterson, but I must admit, he got me this time. I never suspected that until the final ten pages! He got me.... Oh well... I've been had by James Patterson! ha!

We're gearing up for our trip to Niagra! I'm excited for our tour 'cause each and every single time we are trying to go sightseeing someplace, we walk around, or drive around, like we don't know what we are doing! This time, a guided 4 1/2 - 5 hr tour of everything Niagra should shut us up, right? Check out where we are staying:

Should be pretty cool I think. I hope to get some really good pictures and post here when we get back. Now folks, if you hear anything really really bad that may or may not happen in or around Niagra Falls, I simply cannot be held responsible for anything.... Being held up in a hotel room for a few days with Joe could cause anyone to do anything .... It could be anybody.... Just don't jump to any conclusions and assume it's me right away, understand? I'm just saying... It really could be anybody........................... Ha!

Other than that, not much going on here. We had a great weekend as noted in the above pics! Aunt Mary and Aunt Ann came to visit and the boys; it was great! Lots of fun when they are here, as usual. Do you like the celebrity poker players?

Have a great week! I'll post when I get home and report All About Niagra!

The sky tonight....

I hope you saw it too....

It was pink, and blue, bits of purple, and red...

Lots of orange, and yellows...

With streaks of coral and lavender...

Breathtakingly beautiful.

Make sure you check out the free show, coming up, about sunset, each and every evening - now until Fall....

So Lovely....

Could this be....

the most beautiful day of the year?

I didn't want to come inside tonight...

I walked the dogs, then just laid in the Sunroom, listening to my Ipod...

It's just too beautiful out...

ps. I don't know what you think, but I don't think the Big Unit looks right in a Yankee uniform????

Monday, Monday.... :(

Oh Mondays are so joyful, aren't they? I just printed about hundred cards that I've been putting off, and now I'm ready to go and read. Pat and Amber went to see the new Will Farrell movie (I just don't get that movie, or their characters; they were on Larry King as their actual characters in the movie???? I'm missing something....) Anyway, I hope they like it.

We did our Raider Pride work at the football lockers rooms on Saturday morning and it was A HUGE SUCCESS! So many parents showed up, and lots of kids (mine was in bed). But trust me, when we do our thing for the basketball players, his butt will be up at 7 am! ha! Also big news, Uncle Bob won one of the raffle drawings: a $50 gas card! I was sooooo happy that one of my tickets won! That never happens! He's at the beach, and I called him and told him that he has to be a lifetime Raider fan now. He said, "Nahhhhh, I'll go and see Pat, but I'm a lifetime Roller, sorry." Ok, I hear you!! I had lots and lots of pool time this weekend, which was nice. We POP moms got to chat a bit, and that was nice. I actually got in the water both days! It was cold too.

Pat was supposed to get his wisdom teeth out onWednesday, but we cancelled that 'cause he has a cold. Dr. said he can have no drainage at all and I don't see it clearing by Wednesday. I guess I have to work the entire week now... :( Oh well, it's better than changing bloody gauze in someone's mouth, isn't it?

Football is in the air everywhere, and I just didn't really get it. But, after being around the coaches, and the players, the parents, and being at the school on Saturday, I'm a little into Football season now! (The picture above is the one and only year that Pat played football-9th Grade; we are playing the Cougars....ohhhhhh, we got beat bad... poor guys. Pat's No. 41. He had the cleanest uniform of any of the boys!) I will go to both Roller and Raider games - maybe take turns. I feel like I should go to see the Middletown boys 'cause I'm getting to know all of them now, and I wanna see how they do. It's my off season, and I need to enjoy it. I can actually go to a sporting event and not have an ounce of worry or pressure! I LOVE IT!!!!

Have a great week! Don't work too hard!

I HAVE NOTHING PLANNED, NOTHING TO DO ALL WEEK LONG... I FEEL SO LOST...

It's Almost Too Hot to Blog....

I just didn't have it in me this week to blog much; too hot. Today, we went to Subway for lunch, and when we went out, it felt like we were walking into an oven. It was bad, as you already know. Tonight, I'm looking outside, and it looks like it wants to storm. I guess it will, and we need it. Think about it, every other summer, at about this time of the year, the yards are nothing but dead, brown grass. This year, lush, green, crab grass fills our yard, and we've never been happier! We've had mud holes in our yard for so very long, that the lush, green, crab grass puts a smile on my face! No more mud! No more cleaning eight paws every other hour; no more cleaning the carpets every other week! Awwww, my life... so simple now. Ha!

We still don't have our cleaning lady back, and as I type, Joe is washing the kitchen floor. He should, don't you think? I've done it since April 4 (I remember the dreaded date that she last came) ... Do I sound bitter about that???? Ha! We loved our cleaning lady; she was such a dear. One time, she left me a note, and it read: "Dear Terry, I hope you don't mind that I lit a candle while I was here today, cleaning. Your dogs let out a horrific smell and I just couldn't take it." Nope, I didn't mind at all! I could have done without the descriptive analysis of my dogs' habits, but, she cleaned my house, what can I say? Oh geez, I miss her....

Pat came home from camp today; it was great to see him. I think this little separation was good for all of us. His team won the championship, and he was pretty thrilled with that. He enjoyed it very much. A good experience.

Every day this week, the temps in the Sunroom have been 100 and over, so I couldn't even sit out there. I hope this awful weather goes away for good! I just finished a trashy paperback; it was ok, but I'm anxious to start a new Patterson that Carol gave me, Beach Road. Other than that, it's been pretty boring around here. We had a Raider Pride meeting last night, and our first project will be Saturday morning, we are cleaning the Football Locker Room. I just don't know about that at all..... I feel a blog coming on about that one! I remember us cheerleaders going over to our Football Locker Rooms on Cottage Hill, before games, and we would put signs out for the boys, and we would decorate it, and stuff.... I wonder if they liked that? Ha! Too funny..... I bet they laughed at that!

Have a great weekend all, and I'll blog later this weekend!
